វិវាទព្រំដែនបានបង្កផលប៉ះពាល់យ៉ាងខ្លាំងដល់ការអប់រំរបស់កុមារកម្ពុជា ជាពិសេសនៅតំបន់ដែលទទួលរងផលប៉ះពាល់ដោយផ្ទាល់ពីភាពតានតឹង។ សាលារៀននៅតំបន់ទាំងនេះត្រូវបានបិទ បណ្ដាលឲ្យកុមារមិនអាចត្រឡប់ទៅបន្ទប់រៀនវិញបាន។ ក្រៅពីការបិទសាលារៀនភ្លាមៗ វិវាទនេះក៏បានបង្កការលំបាកដល់គ្រួសារ និងសហគមន៍ បណ្ដាលឲ្យធនធានសម្រាប់ការអប់រំកុមារត្រូវបានកាត់បន្ថយ។ គ្រួសារជាច្រើនបានប្រឈមមុខនឹងបញ្ហាសេដ្ឋកិច្ចធ្ងន់ធ្ងរ ដែលធ្វើឲ្យពិបាកក្នុងការផ្តល់អាទិភាពដល់ការសិក្សា។ ក្នុងករណីខ្លះ កុមារត្រូវបានបង្ខំឲ្យជួយគ្រួសាររកជីវភាព ជំនួសឲ្យបន្តការសិក្សា ដែលធ្វើឲ្យមានគម្លាតកាន់តែធំក្នុងកម្រិតការអប់រំ។
នៅខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ក្រុមការងារ ACT បានចុះសួរសុខទុក្ខ សាលាបឋមសិក្សានៅខេត្តឧត្តរមានជ័យ និងបន្ទាយមានជ័យ ដែលទទួលរងផលប៉ះពាល់យ៉ាងធ្ងន់ធ្ងរ ពីវិវាទព្រំដែន។ សាលារៀនជាច្រើនត្រូវបានបំផ្លាញ បណ្ដាលឲ្យកុមារមិនអាចត្រឡប់ទៅបន្ទប់រៀន ឬផ្ទះរបស់ពួកគេបាន។ ការចុះសួរសុខទុក្ខ នេះបានបង្ហាញពីវិសាលភាពនៃការរំខាន ដោយសិស្សត្រូវបានផ្លាស់ទី និងសហគមន៍កំពុងប្រឈមមុខនឹងការលំបាកក្នុងការផ្តល់កន្លែងសិក្សាដែលមានសុវត្ថិភាព ក្នុងស្ថានភាពមិនប្រាកដ។
The border dispute has had a severe impact on the education of Cambodian children, especially in areas directly affected by tensions. Schools in these regions were closed, leaving children unable to return to their classrooms. Beyond the immediate closure of schools, the dispute also created difficulties for families and communities, reducing resources available for children’s education. Many households faced serious economic challenges, making it difficult to prioritize schooling. In some cases, children were compelled to help support family livelihoods instead of continuing their studies, which further widened the gap in educational attainment.
In April 2026, the ACT team visited primary schools in Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces that were heavily affected by the border dispute. Many of these schools were destroyed, leaving children unable to return to their classrooms or their homes. This visit revealed the scale of disruption, with students displaced and communities struggling to provide safe learning spaces amidst ongoing uncertainty.
